Does a short interval mean the mouse is faulty?

Not necessarily. Fast intentional clicks can be close together. Click slowly and look for repeated unexpected events on the same button. This tool cannot diagnose a switch fault.

Why do side buttons not respond?

Some browsers reserve them for back/forward navigation. The tool can only display events delivered to the page and cannot guarantee that side-button actions are blocked.

Can touch and mouse CPS be compared directly?

They use different input methods. Best scores are stored separately by mouse/touch and by 1, 5, 10 or 30 seconds.

Is event frequency the mouse polling rate?

No. Browsers may merge or throttle events. This is an estimate from events delivered to the page over a short sample window.

How to use this tool

1 Press mouse buttons in the test area to highlight them. Context menu and middle-button autoscroll are suppressed only here. Side buttons may be reserved by the browser.
2 The first click starts and counts. Only left clicks or single-finger taps count, not keyboard input. Switching tabs, leaving the window or hiding the page cancels the test.
3 Inspect intervals between consecutive presses of the same button. Intentional fast clicking can produce short intervals; this does not diagnose a faulty switch.
