You only need to send three pages of a hundred-page report, a scan contains unrelated pages, or you want to break a course pack into one file per page for sharing. All of these call for splitting a PDF. After loading, this tool shows a thumbnail of every page so you can click the ones you want, which is far more intuitive than guessing page numbers in a text box.
There are two ways to choose pages: click thumbnails, or type a range such as “1-3, 5, 8-10”, where commas separate groups and hyphens mark consecutive pages. There are also two output modes. “Merge selected pages” combines the chosen pages, in order, into one new PDF, ideal for extracting a chapter or dropping unwanted pages. “Split each page” saves every page as its own PDF and downloads them as a ZIP named page_1.pdf, page_2.pdf and so on.
Splitting uses pdf-lib to copy the original page content directly, so text stays selectable and searchable and images are not re-compressed; quality is identical to the original. The source file is never modified. Note that PDFs protected with an open password are not currently supported, so remove the protection in the original software first. Bookmarks and form fields may not carry over to the new files.
A common workflow: extract the page that needs a signature, sign it with our PDF signer, then put the document back together with the PDF merger. Or split a single scan of many receipts into separate pages for filing. Everything happens in your browser, so confidential documents are never uploaded.
